NYC Chapter 3

These final images are from the Ellis Island and WTC portion of our trip.  By this time, we were cold, unhappy, and had some minor wind burn on our faces.  It was bitterly cold- we had packed for 60, and instead it was 30 with 10 degree windchill on the harbor.  Whoopsie!

I <3 NYC – Chapter 2

On the second day of our visit, and our last day, we went to see the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the WTC site.  These are some images from the Liberty statue part of the trip.

I <3 NYC – Chapter 1

My parents are from New York, 90% of my extended family still lives there, and I’m a bad person who goes to visit and doesn’t tell anyone.  Shame on me!  I look at it this way, if we told everyone we were coming to NYC, we’d be lying to ourselves if we thought any sight seeing would actually get done.  Let’s face it, NYC isn’t a place that can be done in a weekend, so we go once a year in hopes of seeing the whole city before we die :)

We arrived in the evening on Friday, and went to dinner in Times Square.  The following day I had planned on us to visit the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Natural History Museum.  If we were lucky, we would go to the Guggenheim and my favorite Sushi restaurant in the world, over on 81st and 2nd.  It poured all day Saturday, so after walking in the rain to the Guggenheim, we aborted that mission after seeing the 2 hour wait (in the rain), and instead traveled down the street a few blocks to the MET.  These are some images I snapped while admiring some of the most amazing art.

Erika and Eric – Engagement Session

Last weekend I had the tremendous joy of photographing Eric and Erika for their engagement session.  It was our first time meeting since they both reside in Chicago, but I think the session went great, despite the chilly and cloudy weather.  I can say for sure, I am totally looking forward to their Wedding this summer.  Here are some of the images from their Engagement Session- be sure to check out the full slideshow here!

Greetings from Montgomery, Alabama

Dan and I traveled down to the deep South last weekend to visit his brother Mike for his birthday.  Turns out, the entire family thought it was a great idea and came along.  Here are some pictures of mu hilarious in-laws.  They’re going to kick my butt for posting these, but I love them! (Both my family and the pictures, who wouldn’t?)
