Kate is….
a wife to Dan, a sister to Mary and Julia, a daughter to Don and Karen, a Political Science major from UNC Chapel Hill, a child of the Marine Corps, a technologist, an engineer, a traveler, an eternal optimist in the body of a realist, a person who loves sunsets, a friend to many, an enemy of few, a lover of Disney and Pixar movies, and a born photographer.
As a child I wanted to be an astronaut, so I could touch the stars and see the world all at once. Now, as an adult, I find myself draw to different places and cultures, and remembering the people and places that have touched my life is what drew me to photography in the first place. I began photographing landscapes in college, and have grown into a portrait and wedding photographer. My style is creative and focused. I make it a point to try to take pictures you haven’t seen before, as well as making sure I get the traditional images that people want to see after a wedding. My work is a mix of fun and abstract/creative images, with a dash of traditional to keep it balanced. After many years of shooting mainly in black and white, I have fallen in love with color, and utilize the technology to tone my images and make them more than they were.
