Mark and Emily, married August 22nd, 2009

Mark and Emily have been two of my favorite clients thus far this season.  They’re both young, fun, have great sense of humor and creative photography ideas, and they’re just so totally in love with each other.  I really enjoy just hanging out with them, and had been really looking forward to their wedding since our engagement session earlier in the Summer.

Well, at long last here is their wedding, which took place in Emily’s Aunt’s backyard.  It was truly a happy family event, and I was absolutely blessed to be there and participate.

Saint Paul Winter Carnival

Dan’s parents flew up to visit us from North Carolina at the end of January.  Possibly the coldest week of the year, they went 4 days without it getting over zero degrees in temperature – but they were troopers about it!  These are some of the pictures I took while running around town with them.  Sadly, my images of the Winter Carnival orchid show didn’t pan out though…lens fog!

Enjoy!  Kate

Massachusettes Institutue of Technology Family Weekend 2008

The weekend of October 15th-17th I flew to Boston to photograph the MIT Family Weekend 2008.  It was a gorgeous Fall weekend, and I got some great image of families having a good time with some fun events mixed in.

Take a look at the slide show here!

State Fair

The Minnesota State Fair is a gird, and completely paved.  Vendors there, are more often than not permanent structures, with the All You Can Drink Dairy House permanently housed across from the new Miracle of Birth Pavillion.  There is more focus on the actual farming portion of the fair than on the rides or horticulture buildings.  The midway was small, but well lit and bursting with typical carnival fare.

This all being said, I’m not a “fair person.”  Keep your deep fried chees curds (but not the deep fried pickles, I need to learn how to make those!), and instead let me stay home to watch a movie called State Fair.   Even so, from a photographic perspective, I loved going to the Fair and taking shots of the rides, people, lights, and food.  Check out some of the shots below, and let me know what you think.
