My parents are from New York, 90% of my extended family still lives there, and I’m a bad person who goes to visit and doesn’t tell anyone. Shame on me! I look at it this way, if we told everyone we were coming to NYC, we’d be lying to ourselves if we thought any sight seeing would actually get done. Let’s face it, NYC isn’t a place that can be done in a weekend, so we go once a year in hopes of seeing the whole city before we die :)
We arrived in the evening on Friday, and went to dinner in Times Square. The following day I had planned on us to visit the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Natural History Museum. If we were lucky, we would go to the Guggenheim and my favorite Sushi restaurant in the world, over on 81st and 2nd. It poured all day Saturday, so after walking in the rain to the Guggenheim, we aborted that mission after seeing the 2 hour wait (in the rain), and instead traveled down the street a few blocks to the MET. These are some images I snapped while admiring some of the most amazing art.
