I am really behind on posting weddings, and wanted to share this fantastic wedding from this October. Joe and Jennifer have amazing taste, and I honestly have to tell you, this was probably my favorite wedding to attend and photograph in 2009.
Joe and Jenn were married at Assumption Catholic Church in Saint Paul, MN, and held their reception at the Calhoun Beach Club, at Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis. You can also view the slideshow from Joe and Jennifer’s wedding HERE.

Here’s the groom tying his tie, and one of the groomsman’s ties. There was some debate on how to tie a Windsor knot, and Joe was the only one who knew.
I love this photo. Joe and Jennifer wanted to see each other before the ceremony so they could have a few moments together alone, and get all of the formals and family photos done before the ceremony.

It was of course raining, cold, and gloomy outside before and after their wedding, so we opted to do some candid photos in the church basement and around the sanctuary before the ceremony. It’s great that we had about an hour of free time since formals ran so quickly. Many times, they don’t run quickly at all, and run right into our time limit, so I was very excited to have this extra time with the happy couple, and that their wedding party, though large, was so on the ball!

After the ceremony, we made an impromptu stop at Joe’s neighborhood bar. I didn’t think we were going to make a stop before the reception, but I’m so glad we did. It was so much fun, and everyone really had a good chance to have a couple beers and loosen up before the reception.
I LOVE THESE GUYS!

The head table was perfect.

Jenn’s Mom as they toasted her for all of her hard work in helping them prepare for the wedding. She was a crucial part of the planning and making sure everything went smoothly along, which it did. Moms can be your greatest asset in wedding planning.

And so the night continued on with much dancing. Don’t you just love when a Bride gets into the dancing???
