Kathryn and Quauhtli = Married

A large part of my photography business comes from referrals from friends, family, and former clients. I’d met Kathryn a year or two (I don’t remember!) ago through my sister in law, Mary. Well, here it is, a couple of years later, Kathryn has graduated and I hear from my sister (in law) that she’s looking for a wedding photographer. Honestly, the kindest thing anyone could do, and it truly touches my heart, is when they refer me to friends or family.

I finally had the chance to meet with Kathryn and Beverly in Chapel Hill right after we moved down, and despite me being late for the first time (ever! go figure…!) for a customer consultation, they decided to hire me to photograph their engagement session and their wedding.

I got my first chance to meet Quauhtli at their engagement session. I just have to say, I think they’re a perfect fit. Quauhtli thinks of Kathryn first when he makes decisions, and they truly consult with one another before making decisions; the two of them have become a great team! I get to photograph many weddings and engagement sessions, but it’s rare to find a couple more in sync and honest with one another than Kathryn and Quauhtli- you can just see it in the way he looks at her, and how they are together. It’s what makes this little job of mine so special.

Onto the wedding…

I’ve not had much luck with weddings and weather this year. 50% of the weddings I’ve photographed in 2010 have had the blessing of rain, which is tremendous for a wedding, but not so great with bridesmaids and logistics. Kathryn and Quauhtli were cool and calm before the ceremony, which was at The Stone Chapel in Wake Forest, NC. After a touching and moving ceremony full of worship, praise, friendship, and love, we moved onto the reception, which was down the road at the classic The Cotton Company.

Below are some of my favorite images from the day as a slideshow set to Kathryn and Quauhtli’s first dance song.
